Garment Construction is 'site sensitive sound reconstruction' originally recorded at J. Morgan Puett's "SHACK INC." tribeca retail store and workshop in New York City. Fontaine's methodology has been to record random interactions of sound within this specific location and to reconstruct this audio evidence of human activity into sound art. By composing the hum of sewing machines and other garment making tools, ( such as scissors, kick press, dye mixing spoons, ect.), Fontaine focuses on the relationship to these machines and tools as a way to reflect on the importance of their use in our lives.
